I noticed that when you create a recurring meeting in the app I'm using macOS it doesn't ask you for any dates, in fact the dates disappear when you click the Recurring meeting tick box. That would suggest that a recurring meeting is not actually a series of meetings at all but instead just a meeting without a date and time. Therefore if no date and time is actually associated with the meeting it cannot appear in upcoming meetings on the home page of the wwhy.
